Redsn0w For Mac and Windows, a tool to jailbreak iPhone 2G/3G, was released a few hours ago by iPhone Dev Team. Using the tool you can jailbreake your first-gen iPhone, the iPhone 3G, and the iPod touch first and second generation, and iPhone 3G S jailbrake test. The unlock tool is available not only for Mac OS X but also for Windows, and it's already available now for download now on torrent.Redsn0w for Windows has been re-released due to a bug and it went live a few minutes ago. Unlocking is vary easy with iPhone OS 3.0 on your iPhone 2G/3G and iPod touch first/second generation with redsn0w, but you need to take a look with the following.

1. First thing, if you are using yellowsn0w to get cellular service for your iPhone 3G then you should wait for an updated version of redsn0w. Also, with ultrasn0w will be coming soon via Cydia and Icy. You need to wait and NOT lock your baseband on iPhone 3G. If you are using a first-gen iPhone, no problem, redsn0w will do the trick for you.

2. Kindly take note that yellowsn0w will not do the trick for you and the baseband will not work with the iPhone OS 3.0. You must wait for ultrasn0w that will be coming SOON. Also note that ultrasn0w will unlock all iPhones besides the 3G S, but it will unlock all previously unlockable units. Ultrasn0w will be coming soon via Cydia and Icy.

Other reports mentioned that the iPhone Dev Twitter account, if redsn0w 0.7 for Windows worked for you, then you won’t have to run the redsn0w 0.7.1 for Windows. The redsn0w 0.7.1 si designed to fixed a “human bug.”

“The ‘bug’ was human, we didn’t include the GUI application in 0.7 and we did in 0.7.1 If 0.7 was successful for you don’t need to run 0.7.1,” said the iPhone Dev team via Twitter.

Although Redsn0w update is already available, we must be extra cautious in doing it. Be sure, that we know everything on how to update it to avoid disaster.
